Abstract
PURPOSE:
Thisnonrandomizedclinicalstudyaimedtoinvestigatetheeffectivenessoftoricorthokeratology(ortho-k)formyopiacontrolinmyopicchildrenwithmoderate-to-highastigmatismMETHODS:Weenrolled80subjects(aged6-12years;ortho-k,43;control,37)withmyopiaof0.50to5.00diopters(D),andwith-the-ruleastigmatismof-1.25to-3.50D,andunremarkableocularandgeneralconditions.Datacollection,includingvisualacuity,subjectiveandobjectiverefraction,axiallength,cornealtopography,andbiomicroscopyexamination,wasperformedevery6monthsduringthe24-monthstudyperiod.Resultsfromtherighteyeortheeyewithhigherastigmatismwerereported.
